How Saint James serves the least among us
Outreach at Saint James extends far and wide. Each year the Vestry establishes a budget line item that is designated for the Outreach Committee to disburse.
The parish has adopted and supports two godchildren at Our Little Roses Orphanage in Honduras.
Outreach financially supports many organizations in Rabun County, including Community Pantry, F.A.I.T.H, Community Partnership, God's Mobile Home, Power House for Kids, and CASA. Additionally support is provided to Emmaus House in Atlanta and The Episcopal Community Foundation. Brown Bag Sunday is a monthly food gathering for Sharing and Caring; Paws 4 Life is a monthly ingathering of food and supplies for the Animal Shelter of Rabun County.
The annual fall Tag Sale is a parish-wide event that helps fund Outreach at Saint James. Proceeds from the tag sale support the "Miracle Fund". The Fund is used to benefit people in dire need and extraordinary circumstances in Rabun County. It is specifically for needs that are larger than our Outreach and Rector's Discretionary Fund can handle.
Saint James offers its Parish Hall and Youth Building to local groups' meetings. These include AA, Alanon, OA and Recovery in Rabun
